This breed is an ancient hunting breed, a vigorous country dog which suits our lifestyle.  They are a faithful, intelligent, patient and affectionate dog, making them ideal for a family who are active in countryside activities. They have an affinity with children and thrive in a loving family environment. As a family we are attracted to the physical appearance of the Spinone and a squarer bodied dog. They are one of the biggest gundog breeds unmistakable from any other.  The Italian Spinoni is famous the world over for its human like expression and with one glance they can melt your heart. The chance meeting over 35 years ago between my husband and Mrs Sonia Grief left a lasting impression, he knew there and then that one day he would own and work one of these infamous hunting dogs. Personally I love the colour of their coats, especially the white & orange. When we started out on our journey for our first Spinoni we attended several breed shows. We were bowled over with how chilled and relaxed over 60 dogs could be, the majority of which had not met before, and if you attend a show today you will find it a place of calmness and enjoyment.
